Microsoft Dymamics CRM 4.0 Workflow
Workflow in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is now based on
Windows Workflow Foundation, the same workflow engine used by Microsoft
Office and Microsoft SharePoint. Workflow is also accessed directly from within
the CRM client, and rules can be addressed across applications. For example, a workflow
rule may fire based on a change made in another application.
Users can create their own Workflow by using the Workflow wizard, and those with
appropriate security roles, can publish rules to the community or to specific individuals
or teams.

Workflow Progress can be tracked from within an entity, and “stages” are no longer
limited to Sales Processes. For example, you can apply a stage for an account such
as “Welcoming Stage”.
